As part of efforts to reduce the effect of climate change and also contribute to the restoration of the ecosystem, the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) and Rotary Club of Lagos have collaborated to plant 60 trees to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the humanitarian club. Speaking during the tree planting exercise at the median of Abraham Adesanya off Lekki Epe Expressway, Ajah, the General Manager of LASPARK, Mrs. Adetoun Popoola, said the collaboration is a move by the Rotary Club to continue contributing its quota towards environmental restoration, urging individuals and other private entities to emulate the ideal. “Everyone has a role to play in protecting and saving the earth and one of the ways to perform such role is to cultivate the habit of planting trees to celebrate memorable events”, she added. The General Manager of the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK), Mrs. Adetoun Popoola, has said that Lagosians have the responsibility to conserve natural resources and protect the ecosystem to support the health and wellbeing of all, promising the Agency’s readiness to continuously promote healthy living through landscaping and beautification of fallow spaces. Mrs. Popoola stated this on Wednesday at RF Gardens, Ikoyi, during an interactive session with the media to discuss activities of the Agency as well as the results of its various collaborations with the private sector  on the beautifications of parks and gardens across the city. Kareem Akeem Babatunde is Assistant Director/Head of Finance and Accounts of Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency. He joined the Lagos Staten Civil Service as a senior Accountant in November 2006 and was deployed to the State Treasury Office (Monitoring and Investigation Directorate). He was later seconded to Lagos State Waterways Authority in 2008(a newly created Parastatal of Lagos State Government) as one of the pioneer staff where he later rose to become the Head of Accounts in 2010. Abudu Busurat was born on 29th October,1974 to the family of Mr.and Mrs.Abudu, she attended Federal Government Girls college New Bissau,Niger state  where she obtained WEAC in 1991 An Alumnus of the University of Lagos (Unilag), where she bagged her first degree in Mathematics & Statistics in 1997.Ms Abudu also obtained Master in Public Administration from Lagos State University (LASU) in 2005.   MUMIN AKINTAYO MUMUNI, he obtained first school leaving certificate from Sunnyfields Primary School Surulere after which he proceeded to Lagos State Model College, Kankon. He further proceeded and obtained a BSc.in Biology from Southern University at New Orleans, Louisiana. U.S.A. He worked as a Research Associate with the Louisiana State University Life Sciences Centre, and also worked briefly as a State Sanitarian with the Louisiana State Government to ensure businesses and public facilities are compliant with safety, health and environmental regulations set by the State Government.
