LASPARK URGES RESIDENTS TO VISIT PARKS FOR RECREATION

… Says Parks Improve Value of Social Life

The General Manager of Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK), Mrs. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola has called on Lagosians to improve the value of their social life through recreation at any of the parks across the State which, according to her, will enhance government investment in social and economic development.

Addressing an assemblage of enthusiasts at the 2019 edition of “Park and Unwind with Asun Vol. 1” organised by the Agency at the Infinity Park,  Jibowu,  Yaba, the General Manager disclosed that socialising as an integral concept of human survival is an innate indulgence that people should not deprive themselves of.

The LASPARK Boss, who was represented at the event by the Agency’s Secretary,  Mrs. Esther Bashorun revealed that recreational parks across the State are established to enliven the social and economic life of citizens, adding that the giant strides of the present administration in infrastructural renewal and development can only be appreciated when the facilities are adequately utilised.

She restated the Agency’s determination to continue to make the State’s recreational Parks the hot spot for leisure and entertainment, pointing out that gatherings like this provide a precious atmosphere to consummate personal relationships where emotions and experiences are shared, contacts established and business ideas formulated.

“The city of Lagos has always presented itself as the most appealing and idyllic environment for pleasure and memorable moments. The ambiance of hospitality, tourism and entertainment that is associated with the State must be exploited to the advantage of its citizens”, she submitted.

According to her, events like “Park and Unwind with Asun” present a platform for Lagosians to exploit the abundant socio-economic opportunities inherent in the State, adding that the various parks across the State have become a platform for promoting small scale business and entrepreneurship orientation.

Speaking on the adoption of Asun to drive the concept, she stated that the idea of having the universal delicacy to exhibit the event is to provide an appealing snack for both young and old in order to activate the good business opportunities available in the axis.

Adebiyi-Abiola assured Lagosians that the various parks across the State possessed adequate security and topnotch facilities for optimal operations to give the best experience to park users.

She urged the residents to maintain orderliness in the parks as Government would not condone any criminal tendencies in and around any of the State’s parks.
