Ekiti State Government Seeks Lagos Partnership To Develop Greener Climate

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Environment, Mrs Tosin-Aluko Ajishafe and her team has paid a courtesy visit to Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency in Ikeja.

Mrs Ajishafe noted that the visit became necessary for the ministry to learn about the creation and maintenance of functional, operational parks and gardens, planting and maintenance of trees and see how to duplicate such in Ekiti state.

In a remark, the Permanent Secretary for Environment, Ekiti State, Mr Babatunde Alokan expressed his excitement for the warm reception saying that the visit was for standards and performances and most importantly to understudy mission on the beautification and greenery programmes of LASPARK.

Receiving the delegates, the Head of Tree Planting Department, Mrs Funto disclosed that the mandate of Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) is to make Lagos greener and healthier.

Contributing, the Head of Operations, Mr. Shittu Tokunbo spoke briefly that the law that brought about the greening initiative of the State Government from the Conservation and Ecology Department of the Ministry of the Environment (Office of the Environmental Services) by the enactment of Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency was signed and established in July 2012.

General Manager of Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) was ably represented at the courtesy visit event by the Agency, Mrs. Adetutu Abudu.

Also on the Courtesy visit from Ekiti State were General Manager, Waste Management Authority, Eng. Ayoola Osalusi and The Director Environment Health and Sanitation, Mr Tunde Balogun and others.

In attendance were other members of the Management team of LASPARK.
