The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK), in collaboration with Allianz Media Ltd, have established a new Garden along Obafemi Awolowo Way, Alausa in Ikeja.  Speaking at the commissioning of the Garden, the General Manager of LASPARK, Mrs. Adetoun Popoola, said the newly beautified space will be known as “Alausa Scenic Garden”, revealing that the partnership that birthed the new garden is in line with the Agency’s drive on beautification and regeneration of open spaces to achieve a sustainable environment. The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) has fulfilled its promise of rewarding winners of the Y2021 Lagos State “Tree Planting Day Online Art Competition” organised for young children between the ages of four and 12 years old.  The General Manager of LASPARK, Mrs. Adetoun Popoola, who presented the various prizes to the winners at a brief presentation ceremony held at LASPARK’S office in Ikeja, congratulated the winners while appreciating the efforts of all the young children who participated in the contest. The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK), in partnership with Giants of Africa (GOA), has completed the renovation and rehabilitation of the Oworonshoki Basketball Court.  Speaking at the unveiling of the renovated Court, on Tuesday, in Oworonshoki, the General Manager of LASPARK, Mrs. Adetoun Popoola, said the alliance is in line with the Agency’s mandate to promote recreation and leisure in the State. She stated that LASPARK approved the rehabilitation of the sporting facility as a Corporate Social Responsibility Project, adding that GOA is on a mission to use Basketball as a tool to educate and enrich the lives of African youths.  “They have a long term goal to build 100 basketball courts in Africa. The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) has held the third quarter commemorative birthday tree planting exercise for Permanent Secretaries in the public service.  According to a statement issued by the Agency, the exercise is done quarterly and its LASPARK’s way of celebrating the principal officers for their selfless service to the State. The practice also creates an avenue to propagate tree planting as the cheapest nature-based solution to mitigate the effects of climate change.  It noted that the five Permanent Secretaries, whose birthdays fell within the third quarter of Y2021 participated in the exercise. They are Mr. Owodiran Olowoshago (Ministry of Transportation); Mr. Olujimi Ige (Debt Management Office); Ms. Titilayo Shitta-Bey (Ministry of Justice); Mr. Ajose Sangowawa (Office of the State Surveyor-General) and Mr. Olabode Agoro (Lands Bureau) represented by Mrs. Olusegun Yetunde, Director Land Services.

The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK), has unveiled its plans for the celebration of the year 2021 Tree Planting day. The General Manager of LASPARK, Mrs. Adetoun Popoola, unveiling the plans on Wednesday at a press conference held at the Ikeja office of LASPARK, stated that tree planting is the best defence mechanism to stop global warming, hence the State Government, in 2008, declared July 14 of every year as the Lagos State Tree Planting Day.
